Parker Fuel started by providing excellent customer that continues still today.
Orginial Office
Jason Parker and John Eader got together and started Bloomingdale Coal in the late winter of 1937. They rented property at 2509 Druid Hill Avenue in Baltimore City and built a small office there pictured to the left. Mr Eader, who was handicapped and worked out of his home calling customers by phone.
Bloomindale Coal Truck
Jason Parker owned two coal trucks, he drove one to the Pa. mines to bring back coal. He hired a driver for the other truck to make deliveries. Laura Parker would work in the office often 20 hours a day, scheduling deliveries and selling coal by the bag. After a few years and as business grew, they moved to Pressman Street to a larger coal yard.

On November 21, 1942 Parker Fuel Company was Incorporated and Jason and Laura Parker bought out Mr Eader due to his health. In that same year Jason Parker bought property at 200 N. Franklintown Road. Here they continued to sell coal and foresaw the growing use of oil in homes and decided it was time to act.
This is where the tradition of excellent service and installations began. Parker starting doing installations and conversions from coal to oil. Parker Fuel did this by installing oil burners, new furnaces and boilers.
As Parker Fuel Co. continued to grow through the 40's and toward the middle of the 50's, Mr. Parker saw a tremendous potential for the oil busness in Howard County and wanting to expand into new areas. In 1954 Mr. Parker found what he was looking for at 9319 Baltimore National Pike. Parker Fuel was operated from both locations until 1967, when Mr. Parker sold the oil business in Baltimore City.
In 1955 the oil storage tanks where built along with a office. Parker Fuel Co. has operated at this location since 1955. Today Parker Fuel is the largest Howard County based home heating oil company. We have the only bulk storage facility in Howard County. Today Parker Fuel Company is operated by Jason A. Parker Jr., continuing the commitment to the highest quality home heating oil and service possible.
